Recently, we have a client asks which communication method is best to their customers. One of our proposal is to use instant messenger.

People connected with Mainland China knows not all the instant messenger software is allowed to play in china due to governance issues. If your business new to China, and your business want to contact your customer via instant messenger, which you need to have a strategy to match the “culture” of your customers.

The number of users on instant messenger is huge, which is every single one who owns a smart mobile phone - Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, LG, Motorola, Lenovo, mi, Microsoft’s Lumia or Google’s Android. There is a research said “there are more than 4.4 billion people in the Asia-Pacific region using those applications”. Are you planning for this market?

The choice of instant messenger is limited, because the market is dominated by three to five providers. For examples: Line is famous in Korea, Japan and Taiwan; Whatsapp and Facebook is commonly used in HongKong and Macau; QQ and Wechat is popular in Mainland China.
