What do you think about your customers, if they have an issue wants to solve? Are you expecting that they are going to dial a phone-words (1300-somthing) or do a search from their favorite search engine? You may think spending on premium phone-words rental or a premium domain name. Frankly, they are both good, but there is a new marketing chance in new way.

Phonewords are mnemonic phrases represented as alphanumeric equivalents of a telephone number. In many countries, there exist letters corresponding to each digit on a telephone keypad. (wiki) Or A phone word is a 13, 1300, or 1800 number which spells a word.  For example, when you dial the phone word 1300 MOBILE, you are actually dialing 1300 662453. (Telstra Phonewords) Phonewords have already achieved massive popularity in North America (the USA and Canada), in Australia and New Zealand, generally Phonewords is known as 1300 Number, Phone Words, Smart Number or a 1800 and 13 Phone Name. Phonewords have been rapid and extensive expansion in Australia.

Keywords or Brands Dot Com is called domain name. Domain names continue to be highly relevant and Internet users around the world are very open to using domain names that include new domain-name extensions. Recently, there is a report has been published from DNA (Domain Name Association) and a survey was taken by Research Now, which measure global attitudes about awareness, acceptance, preference and knowledge related to domain names. Established top-level generic names and country-code names (gTLD and ccTLD) were tested along with new generic top-level names. The results show that Internet users still employ domain names widely, voice a preference for more domain name and domain-name extension options, and 'get it' when it comes to the possibilities. (You can visit Domain Name Association to read more about specific conclusions, some transcending expectations, were derived from the collected data.)

We agree with ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) that while communications connectivity levels are stabilising in both the fixed and mobile markets, Australians are engaging more intensively online. We are foreseeing that there is fewer people on the traditional phone call in Australia, due to the communication apps built-in call functions, such as Skype, gmail, Line, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, Wechat and more are coming, today customers can directly do a real time communication from a business website. On the other hand, new generation phones has more online functions, they are going to to replace traditional dial-pad only phone.

Traditionally, Australian and New Zealanders are using phone because of the National internet infrastructures is behind the technology age. However, following Australian Government is building the NBN with Telstra and offer economic fast internet connection solution,  and New Zealand's Ultra-Fast Broadband network project is started. Soon, the online population will be rapidly grown and a chance for changing is here - we are not saying domain name is going to replace Phonewords, but suggest to get a strategical domain name for your business and keep the numbers (if you have) can extend the market sectors.

There are many update in the Domain Name fields - new gTLD extension domain name, you can plan the new gTLD alternatively for a .Melbourne, .Sydney or .Kiwi
